Every individual treats life differently, especially the various classes of humans.
An individual who does not have money on many occasions questions his existence. Sometimes he wonders if he lacks the quality of the other person who has made money.
Students who are without money also find themselves in this category of people. In most cases, they quit school especially if there is no money to cater for their education.
I’ve come in contact with students who as a result of lack of money don’t do well in exams or academic activities.
Unfortunately, I can’t offer them money since I can’t offer what I don’t have.
But in order not to allow them to remain in the same situation, here are five things every student without money should know.
So, in this blog post, I would like to share with you 4 things I told a student who cried on my shoulders because he had no one to cater for his needs.
1. Lack of Food may not end your life but lack of water can
Till the end of time, trust me, he will continue to remember me for those words.
A lot of people have gone into fasting for days without eating anything but they survived it. Nobody will encourage you to take a fast and avoid water.
Except in a case where it becomes necessary that you avoid water for a particular period.
I used the above explanation to make him understand that there is a difference between needs and wants.
Because he prioritized his needs and his wants, that is why he is suffering from financial issues today. Food is essential for life but not as essential as water.
I told him to limit his spending, especially on things he may not need and focus his attention on things that matter.
What is the need of buying clothes you cannot wear? What is the need of buying electronic materials you don’t use often?
Things that should top your priorities are things that matter. Things that if you don’t have them, the unthinkable would happen. And not things that even when they don’t come, you won’t be affected in any way.
2. Today is important but tomorrow is a factor
Irrespective of how we want to eat now and get satisfied, have you ever wondered how your tomorrow is going to look like?This is a very important question one should be asking himself.
As a student, are you obliged to squander all your money with the hope that tomorrow will take care of itself?
If you are in such a category of students, trust me, you are not doing yourself any good.
I told the student that while he spends his money on anything whatsoever, he should also think about tomorrow.
Yes, a lot of people are saying that no one should worry about tomorrow as tomorrow is designed to take care of itself.
That is well understood but what happens when tomorrow disappoints you?
What happens when you finally see tomorrow and it has nothing to give to you?
It is a great piece of advice for one to wisely spend his or her money. You must always consider tomorrow when spending so as not to be blown by the shocking revelations of tomorrow.
3. Get a Digital, Get a Life
The world is going digital and everyone has to fall along so as not to be left behind.
I told the young man that he needs to try as much as possible to harness the benefits of the digital world.
Almost everyone is on the internet and the majority of things these days are archived over the internet.
Get into the digital space and start creating a fortune with it.
There is this saying that the digital world is a free world of gold.
This by implication means that you can make a fortune, you can learn anything through the Internet.
If you have a skill, it is time to bring it into the space where people will patronize you.
4. Starting a business with capital is currently speaking with extinction on the phone.
Gone are the days when people cry that they don’t have money to start up a business.
Starting a business these days has become relatively simple and anyone can venture into it and start smiling at the bank.
If you are good at making people laugh, you don’t need anything but your phone to make funny content and share it with people on the internet.
If you are good at cooking, you don’t need millions of dollars to start a kitchen business. You can easily teach people how to make those awesome delicacies with your phone.
This, therefore means that, in this era of globalization, poverty is no longer an excuse.
Remaining poor is a choice people made for themselves and I trust, that is not a decision you’ve made for yourself.

Whining because you don’t have money is no longer a pitiable situation these days.
You’ve got to get out there and become that person you have always dreamed of.
Nobody is ready to bring food to your table. Get up and start thinking of a way to make a living even while you are still schooling.
Think of your needs first before your wants, while you talk about today, also remember that tomorrow is always there. Try as much as possible to create a brand (digital) and finally, stop hiding in the fear of “there is no capital to start a business”.
