Some time ago I was editing a short video with my mobile phone for one of my clients. Because I didn’t have enough space on my phone I started deleting video files that had large sizes.

Unfortunately, I deleted one of the very important clips that were necessary for my video editing.

I became frustrated because there was no way I could improvise.

There was nothing that didn’t go through my mind.

That video was for a client and it will be stupid of me if I went back to him to inform him about my carelessness.

I took it upon myself to clean up my mess. Finally, I saw myself on the internet querying Google on how to retrieve a mistakenly deleted video on Android.

Google brought up lots of responses from different bloggers but the one written by Google itself was more helpful.

So here is how I retrieved my deleted video

And that is it. That was how I successfully retrieved a mistakenly deleted video on my Android phone.

Bonus: If you want more free space in your Android phone you will need to empty your Trash in Google Photos.

This is because all your deleted video or image files don’t completely leave your phone until you delete them permanently.

So to delete a video permanently from your Android device you will need to go to the trash in Google Photos, mark the videos, images, and any other file and click the delete icon.

My Advice on Deleting videos

Gind mistakenly deleted videos

Because of my experience with retrieving the video I needed for my video editing, I would recommend using Google photos always.

Only delete video and image files with Google photos so that when you feel like retrieving the video you can easily go to its trash and retrieve it.

First of all the videos are moved to the trash for possible retrieval or permanent deletion.

Google Photos saved me the embarrassment of losing a client. I got the video back and made sure it was delivered even before the agreed time was reached.
