Lifestyle before higher institution (first hand experience)

Higher institution is an environment compounded with many lifestyles.

The content of this article is drafted from my personal experience during my years as an undergraduate.

While we discuss my experience in the higher institution, we shall also look at what is expected of you before you enter a higher institution.

Thoughts of many about higher institution

Life in higher institution

Many believed that life in the higher institution is so easy and anything is possible.

I might partially agree with you when you say that “anything is possible” in the higher institution but the honest truth is, nothing is easy there.

As for me, based on my experience, life in a higher institution is not easy.

When you become the sponsor of your own education, you will understand that education is not easy.

Except when you come from a very rich home, this is the only reason I would say that life in a higher institution is simple. The reason is because your parents have more than enough to settle your bills.

If you come from a family that barely feeds her members, don’t ever believe anyone that life is simple over there.

I have had the experience so I am sharing it with you. It is not easy there.

Learn a skill before higher institution

In Nigeria and every other society, it is very important to learn a skill before entering into a higher institution.

These skills you acquired before chasing any degree program will enable you to sustain yourself even while you are in school.

I have heard and witnessed situations where students train themselves in school.

One thing that really helped them was the fact that they had skills before they were admitted into the higher institution.

Imagine coming from a poor family background and you also do not have any skill to help you out while you are in school.

The only thing that could happen to people of such a category is to quit school.

To some people, their parents lack the capacity to train them in school. This is why you need to learn a skill before going into a higher institution.

Life in school is not easy

Irrespective of the fact that you will meet new people in school, never believe that life in school is a bed of roses.

Right from going to lectures, buying textbooks and handouts, paying your school fees, and other forms of fees in school, you will know that life in school is not easy.

If you do not have enough time to learn a skill before going into a higher institution, ensure you have more than enough money saved.

Education is not free and not also cheap. Therefore, it is paramount you understand that for you to be educated, lots of things are needed.

Perfect skill for a student

There is nothing there like a perfect skill. As long as your skill can solve a problem, it is more than enough to suit if not all, at least half of your school bills.

Learn a skill before you start seeking admission into any higher institution.

My experience during my undergraduate days was hell. The story wouldn’t have been the same if I had the opportunity of learning a skill.

Fortunately for me, I was lucky enough to learn a movie editing skill by myself.

With this skill, I was able to pay some of my school bills and also solve some pressing problems before my parents could come in to help.

Summary

An individual’s quest to succeed in a higher institution has a great deal to play as long as his pocket is active. Meaning that you need money to survive in a higher institution.

For you to succeed in a higher institution in terms of finance, you are strongly advised to learn a skill.

The skill you will acquire will enable you to go a long way in helping yourself financially.
